Gunbound > Game Guide > Mobiles
The planet of Londe is home to three ancient cultures: the Huboei, the Adium, and the Miramo. Each developed in isolation from the others under vastly different environmental conditions.

As a consequence, each developed in a unique technological direction: the Huboei the mastery of mechanical arts; the Adium the manipulation of energy; and the Miramo the command of nature. Today, a diverse inventory of Mobiles is available from each technological tradition.

For a further description of the origins and special characteristics of each Mobile, see below.
The Mobiles are listed in the chronological order of their development and deployment during the Great Wars.
Armor - Huboei 1
The Huboei developed the Armor Mobile to withstand extreme geological conditions. Its origins lie in armored vehicles used to transport personnel and cargo safely through the Ring of Fire, a region of fierce volcanic and seismic activity. When the Great Wars broke out, these proto-Mobiles were quickly modified and enhanced to create the Armor Mobile. Even today, the high explosive and penetrative power of the Armor Mobile make it one of the most fearsome Mobiles in the Gunbound arena.
The Armor Mobile is equipped with special, highly explosive shells designed to explode after penetrating an opponent’s defenses.

Limited mobility.
Mage - Adium 1
Since ancient times, the Adium have used special photophilic crystals to control and direct the energy of light. They used this technology to develop the agile Mage Mobile at the beginning of the Great Wars to counter the Armor Mobile of the Huboei. The Mage Mobile draws energy from a crystal core for defensive shielding, propulsion and weaponry.

Mobility
Well-balanced, agile, with a wide shooting angle.
Lighter weaponry than Armor.
Nak - Huboei 2
The Huboei developed the Nak Mobile based on the N.A.K. utility vehicles (Neo-Arthropod Kaon) used to work the league-deep mines in the Ring of Fire. For the Great Wars, the Huboei adapted the chassis and mining tools of the N.A.K. utility vehicles to create the Nak Mobile. In Mobile form, the Nak is equipped with explosive pellets and disruption blasts based on kaon burst technology perfected by the Huboei for mining and excavation.
Because it is based on an arthropodal design, the Nak crawls easily over the roughest terrain but suffers from a limited speed and range. Disruption blasts travel underground.

Mobility
High shooting angles, subterranean disruption blasts, strong armor.
Can move only short distances, difficult to operate.
Trico - Miramo 1
Tricos are large sauropods found in the tropical Pays Bas region of the Miramo. Since the dimly remembered past, the gentle Tricos were used by the Miramo as beasts of burden and for transportation. During the Great Wars, the Miramo rode the Tricos into battle, equipping the now fearsome beasts with special cannons that the Miramo evolved from the explosive seed pods of a unique jungle plant. The Trico also features a devastating, multi-pod shot. For maximum damage, the Mobile jockey must compensate for the rotation and trajectory of the pods.

Mobility
Good cratering effect. A perfect multi-pod shot can cause massive damage.
Multi-pod shot requires great skill and finesse to inflict significant damage.
BF - Huboei 3
When the Miramo finally joined the Great Wars, the Huboei desperately needed an agile cratering Mobile that could match the destructive force of the Trico. Intensive R&D resulted in the development of the M4 (Multiple Missile/Multiple Mortar) weapons system. The M4 was mounted on a modified “Big Farm” or “B.F.” utility vehicle chassis. These vehicles are still used today on the Huboei’s large agri-industrial tracts. The introduction of the BF took the Adium and Miramo by surprise, and it was some time before the Adium and Miramo were able to counter with new technology of their own to restore the balance of forces.
The BF Mobile is a wheeled vehicle capable of crossing wide stretches of terrain. Its M4 weapons system is ideal for raining destruction down on long-range targets or for devastating nearby targets with a concentrated fusillade.

A powerful cratering weapon.
Difficult to concentrate firepower on a single point, narrow shot angle.
Boomer - Miramo 2
The Miramo developed the Boomer Mobile from special wooden catapults that the Mountain Clans used to clear the high passes of rocks, ice and snow. The original proto-Boomers fired angled projectiles through extremely high trajectories. The projectiles were made of angled, hardened wood and could smash through any mountain debris. The new Boomer Mobiles were equipped with a new launcher that was even more powerful than the old catapults. These new launchers were also designed to shoot multiple projectiles made out of petrified wood from the center of the Miramo Wood. Together with the strength and direction of the wind, the shape and spin of the Boomer’s boomerang projectiles enable skilled Boomer operators to make shots around surprising angles and corners.
The Boomer shoots a burst of stone boomerangs made of petrified wood from the Miramo Forest that is harder than steel and has better penetrative ability.

The Boomer’s spray shot is one of the most powerful of all the Londean Mobiles. It has the ability to inflict enormous damage by concentrating the impact of multiple boomerangs on a single point. The Boomer also has a cratering capacity that matches that of the BF.
Due to its lightweight wooden construction, the Boomer has the lowest defense of all the mobiles. The Boomer launcher is also among the most difficult weapons to master.
Raon Launcher - Adium 2
The Adium created an effective counter to the Huboei Armor Mobile in the Raon Launcher. Making use of their mastery of robotics and energy transmission, the Adium gave the Raon two completely new and unique armaments: 1) the Cascade gun, which shoots a stream of energy corpuscles that discharge a powerful blast upon contact with solid matter; and 2) mobile proximity bombs, autonomous explosive units that lock on and intercept nearby targets. The Cascade has excellent cratering capability, while the autonomous proximity bombs can deliver a high concentration of critical damage in a single round. The Raon Launcher Mobile was named for the raon, mystical guardians of sacred Adium sites who’s legendary weapons the Adium sought to recreate.
The Raon Launcher Mobile can travel through the roughest terrain and climb the steepest inclines. It has unique energy cascade and mobile proximity bomb weaponry.

The Cascade is one of the most powerful cratering weapons in Gunbound. Skillful deployment of proximity bombs can cause critical damage to opponents.
The Cascade does not do as much direct damage as most other weaons in Gunbound. The proximity bomb AI has difficulty differentiating between friend and foe.
Lightning - Adium 3
Although the Mage and Raon were effective against the bionic Mobiles of the Miramo they were less effective against the heavily armored, mechanical Mobiles of the Huboei. Consequently, the Adium developed a weapon that turned the heavy armor of the Huboei into a liability. The Adium Lightning Mobile was equipped with the capacity to call down lightning strikes from the highest reaches of the Londean atmosphere. The heavy armor of the Huboei Mobiles made them exceptionally vulnerable to electrical attacks. Throughout the Great Wars, the Huboei were unable to develop effective shielding against the devastating lighting strikes.
Adium mastery of lightning and electricity dates from their earliest recorded history. The Lightning Mobile’s lightning gun shoots a charged orb that creates a massive disparity in electrical potential at the point of impact, causing lightning to strike the ground at or above that point.

Mobility
Exceptional mobility. Lightning particularly effective against mechanical opponents.
Heavy and awkward, difficult to manoeuver through rough terrain. Weapons less effective against biological and shield/energy-based Mobiles.
JD - Huboei 4
With the introduction of the Lighting Mobile, the Huboei began to suffer their first significant defeats at the hands of the Adium. It wasn’t until the Huboei introduced their own electromagnetic weapon, the JD Mobile that they managed to reestablish parity with the Adium on the field of battle.
The JD (“Joule Discharge”) gun fires a charged orb that damages opponents with a sharp, localized electromagnetic burst. The orb stores electromagnetic energy that it discharges upon impact. According to the polarity of the charge, the shot can have an attractive or repulsive magnetic effect.

Skilled operators are able to use the cratering and magnetic properties of the JD gun to devastating effect. The basic shot also has the shortest delay in Gunbound.
In terms of direct damage, the JD gun rates among the lowest in Gunbound.
A Sate - Adium 4
Mobile armor is weakest at the top. The A Sate Mobile was created to take advantage of this fact. To create the A Sate, Adium scientists married an advanced remote-targeting beam weapon to a streamlined Mage chassis and propulsion system. The A Sate shoots a targeting tracer that directs the shot of its aerial and orbiting beam weapons.
The A Sate inflicts intense damage by concentrating fire on the top of the enemy Mobile.

Concentrates fire on the top of enemy Mobiles where their armor is weakest. Good cratering capability.
One of the lowest defenses in Gunbound due to its lightweight, stripped-down chassis.
Mammoth - Miramo 3
The Miramo Mountains are the original home of the Londean Mammoth. By the time the Great Wars broke out, the Mammoth had already shared an enduring stewardship of the Miramo mountains and forests with the Miramo people for thousands of years. Equipped with a dual action weapon that can fire missiles of solid ice and super-cooled ice blasts, the Miramo Mammoth or Ice Mobile distinguished itself in the Great Wars as one of the most versatile and effective Mobiles on the battlefield.
The Mammoth’s missiles of solid ice cause great damage upon impact. Even greater damage can be done by the Mammoth’s super-cooled ice blasts because they super-cool the point of impact.

Mobility
Good cratering ability and mobility. Especially effective during play with other Mobiles with impact weapons.
Poor range and low defense due to a lack of armor and a wide target zone.
Turtle - Miramo 4
The most heavily armored of the Miramo units, the Turtle or Water Mobile was the most feared of all the Miramo Mobiles until the Huboei and Adium developed better defenses against penetrating water attacks towards the end of the Great Wars. Even today, despite improved Huboei and Adium armor, the Water Mobile is devastating at long and point-blank ranges.
With its enormous defensive abilities, the Turtle Mobile can endure major attacks to its body and still survive. It has two water guns that employ water pressure. The gun's power increases during the game. In short range battles, the Turtle Mobile mainly uses its defensive abilities. In long-range battles, the mobile concentrates its attack using high angles. The Turtle Mobile has critical weakness in mid-range battles.

Mobility
Excellent defense. Long range, high angle shots concentrate the impact of the Water Mobile’s penetrating, high-pressure water jets.
Low mobility and range of movement. Water gun less effective in the middle ranges.
Grub - Adium 5
The Londean Grub is endemic to the Crystal Mines of the Adium. It subsists on rocks and minerals and converts the crystal matter it consumes into a concentrated photochemical gel that can store enormous amounts of light energy. Adium scientists discovered that with the proper trigger, this energy can later be released in a single powerful surge. For application as a weapon, they developed special crystal globes to contain the gel and charge it with explosive energy. They designed the Grub’s weapon to fire these globes in single shots that explode on impact and in multi-globe bursts that explode after a timed delay.
The Grub’s time-delay shots can bounce to strike difficult to reach opponents.

Able to bounce shots around and over terrain and other obstacles.
Poorest cratering ability in Gunbound.
Aduka - Adium 6
Thousands of years before the outbreak of the Great Wars, the Huboei discovered an ancient alien relic associated with the moon Thor. According to Huboei lore, the relic was a Key to a weapon of great power, but it was not until late in the Great Wars that scholars learned how to use the Key to call Thor’s Hammer down from the sky. Huboei scientists succeeded in replicating the Key, and installed copies in the Aduka Mobile to give it a unique and devastating armament. Built on a modified Nak chassis, the Aduka is equipped with explosive projectiles capable of activating Thor’s Hammer in lieu of the Nak’s standard disruptor weaponry.
The Aduka Gun shoots 1) explosive pellets that do electrical splash damage and 2) explosive bots each equipped with a copy of the Key.

Thor’s Hammer weak in the hands of beginners. Low mobility.
J Frog - Miramo 5
The Giant Frogs of Londe inhabit the swamplands irrigated by glacial runoff from the Miramo Mountains and hibernate deep in the icy caverns beneath the glaciers. Giant Frogs spit a sticky, jelly-like substance to immobilize prey for consumption. During the Great Wars, the Miramo discovered a compound that unleashed the weapons capability of the Giant Frogs. Specifically, they discovered a catalyst that reacted with the jelly blobs to create a powerful explosion shortly after impact. The J Frog Mobile weapon was created by equipping Giant Frogs with a mechanism that sprays jelly blobs with the catalyst at the moment they are expelled. In the hands of an experienced handler, the J Frog can be highly devastating, especially in team play.
The J Frog Mobile spits jelly blobs that stick to all surfaces. The J Frog operator can control the spin of the blob, to make it roll towards or away from the point of impact.

Mastery of timing and distance for maximum effectiveness requires practice and finess.
Kalsiddon - Huboei 5
Impressed with the versatility and performance of the BF chassis, the Huboei sought to equip it with a weapon capable of inflicting critical damage to enemy Mobiles. Towards the end of the Great Wars, Huboei researchers developed the MSM, a multi-stage missile system that uses high trajectories to concentrate firepower at the top where Mobiles are weakest. They deployed the MSM on a modified BF chassis to create the last of the Huboei mobiles, the Kalsiddon.
The Kalsiddon’s MSM weapon fires a tracer round that guides its missiles to their target. The MSM requires a high angle and long distance in order for the guidance system to have maximum effect.

The MSM guidance system is extremely accurate but the multi-stage missile requires time to deploy. As a result, the MSM is inaccurate for low trajectory, short range shots.
Dragon - Miramo 6 Special
The Londean Dragon is a rare and gentle creature whose range extends throughout the Miramo Territories. The Londean Dragon is the only intelligent species native to the planet and is one of the first creatures to befriend the Miramo. It is capable of flight and can fire a high pressure stream of incendiary gel. When the Dragons joined the ranks of the Miramo, it helped to speed the Great Wars to their conclusion. Rare even during the Great Wars, Dragons are even rarer today in the Gunbound stables. Riding a Dragon into battle is a special privilege and honor.
Dragons are the only Mobile in Gunbound capable of flight. The Dragon’s incendiary attack can breach the strongest armor.

Knight - Adium 7 Special
The Knights of the Adium are an ancient martial order pledged to protect Adium society from all threats. At the close of the Great Wars, Adium scientists finally succeeded in mechanically mimicking Miramo armor and mobility bionics and used these techniques to enhance the Knights’ armor and their mounts. For weaponry, the Knights were equipped with a devastating Laser Lance based on improvements to the A Sate beam weapon. The Knights were among the most feared warriors on the battlefield. It is a rare honor to have the opportunity to enter the Gunbound arena as a Knight.
Precise aim is required to realize the full devastagion of the Knight Mobile’s concentrated firepower.
